We don’t often get to work on projects with a strong emphasis on heritage. So we were excited when Charlotte and James came to us asking for a modern home with a Peranakan theme.

Decor from Nyonya Bakery
The couple owned a traditional Nyonya bakery, and they wanted to replicate that ambience in the comfort of their abode.
Modern Peranakan Kitchen
They didn’t just want a retro look. They also wanted to retain a modern feel to their home. So we matched the floral patterned flooring with sleek wooden furniture in the dining area.
Contrast of Colors
We replicated the beautiful color scheme of their bakery by matching deep teal cabinets with light-colored flooring throughout their home.
Private Corner
They also wanted a private space where they could conjure new recipe ideas for their bakery, so we created a platform that doubled as an office desk and a cozy corner in their study.
